This chapbook contains three poems and fifteen black-and-white photographs not included in The Archive of Bernard Taylor, Selected and edited by Peter Ward. The photos were all taken in Hillside Woods and Park, in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, and are accompanied by three of Taylor’s tightly formed poems. The zine concludes with a brief history of the Hillside area and a note on the edition by the editor.

In this fictional world, Peter Ward privately printed The Archive of Bernard Taylor in an edition of fifty and gave copies to family and friends. It quickly was unobtainable. The book contained selections from the archive of former Hastings resident, Bernard Taylor, purchased, Ward said, at Taylor’s estate sale. The book reproduced texts and photographs from the worksheets Ward discovered, and included a number of sidebars in which Ward shared bits of local history. Before he moved from the area in 2020 and subsequently dropped out of communication, Ward left the contents of Hillside and several other unfinished works.
